Brett Bilbrey

Director of Advanced Technology at Position Imaging

Brett Bilbrey has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Brett started their career in 1980 as a Founder and Partner at Spectre Systems, where they programmed video game cartridges and provided consultation to Bally on game development. In 1983, they worked as a Sr. Engineer at Frederiksen and Shu Laboratories.

In 1988, Brett founded Intelligent Resources Integrated Systems and served as the Executive Vice President. Brett developed the Video Explorer, the first video card to bridge the computer and broadcast video industries digitally. The Video Explorer supported HD video and CCIR601 digital interfaces and was used for various OEM products. Brett held this role until 1996.

From 1996 to 2002, they founded and served as the Chief Technology Officer at Intelligent Paradigm, focusing on products for the broadcast video market. Notably, they developed the Primatte Explorer, the first real-time digital chroma matte processor for High Definition video.

Brett joined Apple in 2002 and held various management positions. Brett served as the Manager of Media Architecture, Macintosh System Design (MSD) Architecture Group from 2002 to 2004. From 2004 to 2008, they were the Engineering Manager for Consumer Macintosh Products, responsible for managing core teams for product integration and manufacturing. Lastly, they served as the Senior Manager for Technology Advancement from 2008 to 2014, heading Apple's Technology Advancement group.

In 2014, Brett expanded their expertise by joining multiple companies. Brett became a Strategic Advisor at Kiernan Group Holdings, an Advisor at Neocortix, Inc., and the Founder of Pure Magic Technology.

In 2019, Brett joined Position Imaging Incorporated as the Director of Advanced Technology. Brett also served on the Board of Advisors for the company. Position Imaging Incorporated focuses on wireless tracking technologies.

Lastly, Brett became a National Advisory Council Member at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2020. Brett also served as a CECS Industrial Advisor for the university since 2015.

Brett Bilbrey completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Michigan-Dearborn between the years 1978 and 1982. Brett'sfield of study included computer, laser, and robotics.
