Matthew Atkinson

Matthew Atkinson is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in both private practice and government legal roles. Currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel at Post Office Ltd since January 2023, Matthew previously held the position of Senior Lawyer at the Government Legal Department from February 2018 to January 2023. Prior experience includes a tenure as Senior Associate at Bird & Bird from April 2012 to June 2017 and several roles at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, including Associate and Trainee Solicitor, from February 2006 to February 2012. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in Law with American Law from the University of Nottingham and has furthered legal education at The University of Texas School of Law. Early education was completed at Hitchin Boys' School.
