Thomas Smith, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning across multiple companies and roles. Thomas started their career in 2011 as a Graduate Researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they focused on designing and synthesizing small-molecule boronic acids to manipulate protein function. Thomas also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant during this time. In 2017, Dr. Smith joined Promega Corporation as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, where they collaborated with a team to build innovative diagnostic platform technologies. Thomas regularly communicated project progress to stakeholders and stayed updated with the clinical and applied market space. In 2019, they joined Postal.io as a Front End Developer, contributing to the development of a sales and marketing platform.

Thomas Smith, PhD, has a diverse education history spanning multiple fields of study. Thomas began their educational journey at Stony Brook University in 2004, where they participated in the Young Scholar Program. Following this, they attended the University at Buffalo from 2006 to 2010, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Medicinal Chemistry and Neuroscience.

In 2011, Thomas enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry. This program lasted until 2016, indicating a significant commitment to their research and academic pursuits. During their time at the University of Wisconsin, Thomas also attended the Morgridge Entrepreneurial Bootcamp at the Wisconsin School of Business in 2015.

Continuing their passion for learning and keeping up with industry advancements, Thomas completed a program in Computer Software Engineering at Fullstack Academy in 2019.
