David Boe has a diverse work experience with a range of roles. David started their career in 2011 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Weinstein Lab at the University of Washington's Department of Neurology, where they were a volunteer assistant with responsibilities including mouse colony management, DNA extractions, PCR, protocol troubleshooting, and training undergraduates. David then became an Undergraduate Research student at the University of Washington in 2011, conducting research in animal models of spinal cord injury and stroke in the Department of Rehabilitation and Department of Neurology. In 2015, they became a Visiting Scientist/Research Engineer at the University of Washington, conducting novel research on fundamentals of machine learning and initiating and leading new research agendas. David also earned their Masters in Prosthetics and Orthotics, gaining hundreds of hands-on clinical experience and training to become a prosthetist/orthotist. In 2019, they became the CEO and Cofounder of Cyberlimbic, an exploratory venture for new VR-based therapy for phantom limb pain. David designed, developed, and tested from the ground up a standalone therapy application, utilizing neurological principles of sensorimotor integration, body ownership, and chronic pain to achieve clinically meaningful results. David is currently a Machine Learning Researcher at PostEra, a position they have held since 2022.
David Boe obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Neurobiology from the University of Washington in 2013. David then went on to pursue a Masters in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the same university, which they completed in 2017.
