Mark Payne has a background in scientific software development and teaching. Mark began their career in 2014 at Clemson University as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant and Undergraduate Research Assistant. In 2016, they joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Graduate Research Assistant, Instructor G, and Graduate Teaching Assistant. During their time at MIT, they held regular office hours, taught recitations, developed problem sets, and graded exams for undergraduate Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics. Mark was awarded the Edward W. Merrill Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award in 2019. In 2022, Mark Payne joined PostEra as a Scientific Software Developer.
Mark Payne received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Clemson University in 2016, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University in 2016. Mark then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they are expected to complete in 2022. In 2021, they obtained a Kaufman Teaching Certificate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
