Ashutosh Bapat

Ashutosh Bapat is a Principal Software Engineer and Manager at EDB since August 2021, with extensive experience in software engineering and database management. Bapat has been a Major Contributor to the PostgreSQL Global Development Group since August 2009 and previously served as a Senior PostgreSQL Architect at 2ndQuadrant. Significant contributions include work on bi-directional replication features and complex support problem-solving as part of the L2 support team. Prior to that, Bapat held positions as a Staff Software Engineer at Hortonworks, focusing on replication and metastore in the Hive team, and as a Technical Architect at EnterpriseDB, specializing in PostgreSQL and related products. Additional experience includes core team member roles in Postgres-XC development and software engineering at Sybase, along with academic positions as a Visiting Professor at the College of Engineering Pune and a Teaching Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Bapat holds an MTech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a B.E. in Computer Engineering from COEP Technological University.
