Pavan Deolasee

Pavan Deolasee is a highly experienced software engineer specializing in database systems, currently serving as a Senior Principal at EDB since September 2020. With a long-standing involvement in PostgreSQL development since 2006, Pavan contributed significantly to the creation of the HOT (Heap Only Tuples) feature, enhancing OLTP database performance. Prior roles include PostgreSQL Consultant at 2ndQuadrant and Core Contributor for the Postgres-XC Global Development Group, where Pavan was essential in the system's design and global transaction management. Additionally, Pavan held various engineering and consulting positions at companies including TransLattice, NTT DATA, and Symantec, focusing on performance improvements and virtualization technologies. Pavan holds an MTech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a BE in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology.
