AI shouldn’t just summarize research. It should do science.

Potato is building the Scientific Operating System for Life Sciences, where AI agents don’t just read papers but also run experiments.

With Tater, our AI scientist, researchers can move from idea to experiment to insight in record time:
- Search and synthesize open-access and proprietary literature
- Generate lab-ready protocols and automation scripts
- Run computational analyses and data workflows
- Explore hundreds of experimental variations in parallel

We call this closed-loop science: research that does not stall at literature review, but continuously designs, executes, and learns. The result is faster iteration, deeper exploration, and more time for human scientists to focus on discovery.

Potato is built for every stage of R&D:
- Individual researchers use free tools for literature reviews and protocol generation.
- Teams and labs collaborate in shared workspaces with Potato+.
- Institutions and pharma unlock enterprise-grade security, advanced tools, and seamless integration with lab automation.

Backed by Draper Associates, Ensemble VC, Boost, Dolby Family Ventures, Merck Digital Sciences Studio, PSL, and the AI2 Incubator, Potato was founded by scientists who have lived both sides of the lab bench: the frustration of stalled experiments and the thrill of breakthroughs.

We are unleashing scientific creativity at scale, because the future of science is not just human or AI. It is both, working side by side.
