On December 20, 2012, the heavy wooden gate of Pousada A Capela, located on the legendary Arembepe Beach on the north coast of Salvador, opened for the very first time to welcome our first guests. Today, almost 13 years later, we’re opening our virtual door.

Here, we want to share stories, exchange ideas, discuss management practices, ask for support in overcoming challenges, and reflect on the future of our business.

For those who don’t yet know A Capela, here’s a quick introduction: we’re a beachside boutique inn with 19 rooms, 10 of them oceanfront, well known for our intimate atmosphere, delicious food, and attentive hospitality. Our beach has natural pools with warm water and colorful fish. On the property, we also offer a swimming pool, beach tennis court, game and event room, a restaurant with regional cuisine, and beach service. Our guests are couples, families, and lovebirds who often choose us as the setting for their weddings. We are called A Capela because yes, we do have a chapel, where more than 150 weddings have already taken place.

Who created A Capela? That would be us: Claudia Giudice, a journalist and former executive at Editora Abril from São Paulo, and Nil Pereira, a Salvador-born producer of large events. We met, in fact, at Daniela Mercury’s famous Camarote Contigo, produced by Nil and coordinated by Claudia. We quickly realized we shared the same dream for a “pre-retirement project” and decided to build it together.
Thirteen years later, we are proud that A Capela has become a place where comfort, culture, and hospitality come together in a simple and authentic way. Brazilian folk art, one of our great passions, fills every space, forming an essential part of our identity and of the experience we offer.
