Ryan Hicks has extensive experience in educational and counseling roles, currently serving as a School Counselor with Poway Unified School District since August 2010, where responsibilities include implementing district guidance programs and supporting student development. Additional roles include Before and After School Site Supervisor and coaching high school lacrosse. Currently an Adjunct Faculty member at National University, Ryan leads educational counseling sessions while maintaining a student-centered learning environment. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University and a Master's degree in Counselor Education from Point Loma Nazarene University, complemented by an Associates Degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from San Diego Miramar College.

The District serves over 36,000 students, and is the third largest school district in the county.
