Peter Leal

Peter Leal is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in intellectual property law. Currently serving as Managing Counsel for Commercial Transactions at Power Integrations since January 2019, Peter Leal oversees all aspects of intellectual property. Previous roles include Of Counsel at Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner from January 2010 to December 2018, where responsibilities included patent licensing and strategic patent counseling. Prior to that, Peter Leal was a Partner at DLA Piper for nearly a decade, focusing on intellectual property licensing and M&A due diligence. Early career positions included Special Counsel at Cooley Godward Kronish LLP and Corporate Counsel at IBM, where Peter Leal managed intellectual property for the storage division. Peter Leal holds a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Loyola Marymount University.
