Regional Lead, System Engineer at Power System Engineering

Tom Chambers is the current Regional Lead, System Engineer at Power System Engineering. Tom was previously with Alpha Engineering, Inc from May 2009 to April 2014 as a Project Engineer. In their previous role, they were responsible for distribution system modeling and analysis for electric utilities and industrial facilities.

Tom is an expert in power flow studies for distribution utilities and investigating power quality disturbances through troubleshooting and waveform analysis. Tom has also performed arc flash hazard analyses for industrial and utility environments, and provided recommendations for arc flash hazard mitigation. Additionally, they have experience in analyzing and designing distribution substation grounding.

At Power System Engineering, Tom is responsible for leading a team of engineers in providing system engineering support for electric utilities across the United States. Tom is also responsible for maintaining the company internet presence supporting several social media outlets to increase industry awareness of company.

Tom Chambers holds a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University.

They work with Sean Kufel - Regional Lead, System Engineer, David Dunbar - Power Delivery Designer, and Seth Packwood - Substation Design Engineer. Their manager is Kevin McCutcheon, VP, Utility, Engineering & Design.
