John Shearer

John Shearer has been involved in a number of different companies since 2003. In 2003, they founded and became a board director of Powercast Corporation. In 2009, they became a Practitioner Faculty and Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business. John was instrumental in substantially growing the MBA Entrepreneurship Program at Pepperdine University, which received a ranking by Forbes as one of the Top Ten Entrepreneurship Schools in America. In 2012, they co-founded the Early X Foundation and became a board member. In 2013, they co-founded DarkLight Cyber, an Active Defense cybersecurity solution. In 2021, they became an advisor at Level 42 AI, a Silicon Valley startup whose software-defined hardware captures and synchronizes traditionally discarded or unobserved multi-modal data streams to predict and quantify health state.

John Shearer attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 1980 to 1985, where they earned a BA and MBA in Physics.
