Matthew G. has over 18 years of work experience. Matthew began their career in 2003 as a Healthcare Specialist in the US Army, where they were awarded several medals for their service. From 2010 to 2015, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Pittsburgh, where they designed and analyzed experimental electrophysiology data from human lung epithelial cells. In 2015, they began working as a SAS Developer at Celerity. In 2016, they joined Highmark Inc. as an Analytic Data Engineer, where they developed data ingestion processes into Hadoop, reports, dashboards and REST APIs using tools such as Python, R, and SAS. Matthew also provided database administration of MongoDB and MySQL databases, as well as training of co-workers in version control practices. In 2019, they joined GTL as a Data Engineer, where they developed and improved data ingestion processes using tools such as Apache Airflow, AWS EMR, and Python. Matthew also reduced data lake AWS costs by 66%. In 2021, they joined Powerlytics Inc. as a Principal Data Engineer.

Matthew G. completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology, General from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford between 2006 and 2009. Matthew then attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health from 2013 to 2015, studying Biostatistics. In 2015, they earned a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from PennWest California. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Python (Basic), SQL, and SAS® Data Cleansing Challenge from HackerRank and SAS in 2021, 2018 respectively.
