Eric Shander

President & CFO at PowerSchool

As President and Chief Financial Officer, Eric is responsible for the finance, accounting, human resources, legal, and information technology functions for PowerSchool. In addition, he is responsible for PowerSchool’s global customer renewals and success functions. He has a proven track record of building world-class teams that surpass their objectives.

Prior to PowerSchool, Eric was the Executive Vice President and CFO of Red Hat Inc. His leadership of Finance, Accounting, Investor Relations, Operations, and Real Estate enabled the company to scale as it rapidly grew from $2B in revenue to over $3.5B. When Red Hat was sold to IBM in 2019 for $34B, it was the largest software transaction to date.

Eric previously held finance and accounting positions at IBM, where he was a key leader driving the divestiture of their PC business to Lenovo in 2005, before joining Lenovo to help bring the Chinese company onto the global stage. In 2008 Eric returned to IBM to lead their Finance & Accounting Outsourcing business, leading to significant top-line growth and increased profitability. He also led IBM's North American Global Technology Services delivery organization, where he acquired significant client-facing experience while delivering mission-critical IT services to North American customers.

Eric holds a bachelor’s in Finance from Pennsylvania State University, an MBA from Fordham University and is a certified public accountant. He is father to two daughters. His oldest recently graduated with a Marketing degree, while the younger is currently studying Physical Therapy at the University of Georgia. An avid runner, Eric enjoys cooking and the outdoors.
