Amy Lavelle

Amy Lavelle is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in laboratory operations and scientific research, currently serving as Director of Labs at PPD since November 2009. Previously, Amy held various roles at PPD, including Associate Director and Manager, where responsibilities included overseeing laboratory compliance, managing resources, and directing improvements in laboratory efficiency and productivity. As a Senior Research Scientist and Group Leader, Amy played a pivotal role in developing and validating immunoassays for pharmaceuticals and biosimilars, serving as principal investigator on numerous projects. Amy began a scientific career at Virginia Commonwealth University, where roles included Graduate Research Assistant and Laboratory Technician, followed by a Laboratory Specialist position at Commonwealth Biotechnologies. Amy holds a Ph.D. in Human and Molecular Genetics and a BS in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
