Justin Berg has held various positions throughout their career. Justin started as a Computer Technician at Sun Valley/Cybernetic Technologies in 1999. From there, they served as a Senior Systems Engineer at 3D Computer Services from 2003 to 2005. Justin then worked as a Network Administrator at the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research (AHFMR) from 2005 to 2007. Following this, they became a Solutions Engineering Specialist at TELUS from 2007 to 2008. Justin then worked as a Vice President, Hosted Solutions at Market Web Solutions Inc. from 2008 to 2010. Currently, they serve as the Assistant Vice-President of IT Security Operations and Infrastructure at PPI and its subsidiaries PPI Advisory and PPI Solutions.

Justin Berg has a Certified Network Professional degree in Information Technology from Network Learning Masters, which they obtained in 2003. In addition to their degree, Justin has obtained several certifications in the field of technology. Justin obtained the Accredited Platform Specialist - HP Desktops and Workstations certification from Hewlett-Packard in April 2004. Justin also obtained the Accredited Platform Specialist - HP Mobile Computing certification in March 2004, and the Accredited Platform Specialist - HP ProLiant Systems certification in January 2004, both from Hewlett-Packard. Justin obtained the Server+ certification from CompTIA in 2004. Justin also holds the Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) and Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certifications from Microsoft, both obtained in 2003. Justin obtained the A+ certification from CompTIA in 2002, and the Linux+ certification from CompTIA in the same year. Justin's earliest certification is the Certified Novell Administrator (CNA) certification from Novell, which they obtained in 2001.
