Ben Thomas has extensive experience in the information security and compliance fields. Ben is the CEO and founder of Practical Assurance, a company that offers compliance audit preparation tools. Before that, they worked as the VP of Product & Security at Backupify, where they were responsible for creating information security strategies. Ben also founded the Louisville Geek Dinner and worked as an IT Audit Manager and Information Security Consultant at ResCare, Inc. Ben was an Information Security Project Lead at Guardian Digital Inc. and an Assistant Systems Engineer at KA.Net Internet Services. Ben is skilled in project management, risk assessment, compliance, and system administration.
Ben Thomas earned a BSBA in Computer Information Systems from the University of Louisville in 2002. In 2003, they attended Royal Holloway, University of London, where they obtained a Master of Science in Information Security in 2004 with a specialization in Information Security.
