Modern business runs on software. Practical Inventions (PI for short) helps small and medium businesses keep up.

A staffing company schedules dozens of professionals every week for businesses throughout Central Pennsylvania. Their scheduling system, running on another company’s “locked in” solution, will shut down in 8 months. The product is just going away, “no longer supported.” THEN a pandemic hits. Business slows to a crawl. Months go by; resources become scarce. Now it’s a predicament.

But this company had PI in their corner. Leaning on our years of rapport, this company and PI worked as a team to identify the bare essential features of the scheduling system. Then, with PI’s portfolio of open technologies, we built, tested, and launched a replacement system on a shoestring budget in 4 months flat. The client’s newly remote workforce now schedules from anywhere, and the company’s scheduling won’t get stuck in someone else’s software EVER again.

At PI, we meet the world as it is. We’re very practical that way.

PI brings the power of custom software to small and medium businesses (SMBs). We use collaborative engineering, agile development, and open technologies to build ideas into enterprise-quality software at accessible prices in the time you have. Sometimes we build impressive systems with you from the bottom up. On other projects, we replace a few pieces of technology or make a dozen different products work together. We answer the needs of the businesses we serve to help them thrive in a digital future.
