Lead Clinical Faculty, Clinician Experience Project at PracticingExcellence

Dr. Mark Shapiro has worked in the healthcare industry since 2014. Mark began their career as the Lead Clinical Faculty of the Clinician Experience Project at Practicing Excellence, where they created web-based content, workshops, and keynotes to help build team collaboration and mutual support for Hospitalists and other healthcare professionals. In 2015, they founded, produced, and hosted the Explore The Space Podcast. In 2016, they joined Providence, where they serve as a Hospitalist, Board of Directors for Providence Medical Group-Sonoma County, and Medical Director of the Division of Hospital Medicine at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Mark Shapiro, MD obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Theirtory from the University of California, Los Angeles between 1994 and 1998. Mark then attended Baylor College of Medicine and obtained their Doctor of Medicine degree between 1999 and 2003. Mark completed their Internal Medicine Residency Program at UC San Diego between 2003 and 2006. Additionally, they have certifications from the Medical Board of California, the DEA, and the American Board of Internal Medicine.
