Stephen Beeson

Stephen Beeson is the founder and CEO of PracticingExcellence. Stephen is also a bestselling author and physician leader.

Dr. Beeson released their first book, "Practicing Excellence. A Physician’s Manual to Exceptional Health Care", in 2006. This national bestseller articulates a strategic, prescriptive “how-to” approach to improving physician performance in quality and service and training physicians techniques in driving organizational success.

In 2009, Dr. Beeson released their second book, "Engaging Physicians: A Manual to Physician Partnership". This critically acclaimed book takes system leaders on a staged journey to physician enrollment in organizational change efforts.

From July 1994 to October 2012, Dr. Beeson served as a physician leader and then a physician for Sharp HealthCare. In this role, they were responsible for providing quality care to patients and helping to drive organizational success.

Beeson began their medical education with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from the University of California San Diego. Stephen then attended the University of California, San Diego - School of Medicine and earned their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in Biochemistry. Beeson completed their residency in Family Medicine at the University of California, San Diego.
