Pratensis is a Slovenia-based SME working at the interface of biodiversity, agriculture and nature finance, with a focus on species-rich grasslands and mosaic agricultural landscapes. We design and implement field-based monitoring (MRV), indicator logic, and verification-ready evidence workflows that make biodiversity outcomes measurable, traceable and usable for land managers, public schemes and private contributors.

Our work spans three connected areas:
- Grassland ecology & monitoring: parcel/season habitat condition assessment, quality assurance, and practical indicators that work in real farming systems.
- Nature finance design: results-based and hybrid (actions + results) approaches that support conservation and restoration while recognising farmer feasibility and economics.
- Market infrastructure & reporting usability: contribution-only biodiversity certificates, traceability/registry concepts (PratumLedger), and reporting-ready outputs for corporate due diligence and sustainability reporting (CSRD / ESRS E4 / TNFD-style needs).

Within Horizon Europe BIO-CAPITAL, we led the species-rich grassland use case, developing practical habitat taxonomy and indicator logic for real-world application. We are currently advancing Praxis + PratumLedger—a field-first methodology and traceability layer for grassland biodiversity certificates designed for high integrity, independent verification, and transparent claims (non-offset).

Pratensis collaborates across farmers and land stewards, field ecologists, public institutions, NGOs and private actors to build solutions that are credible under scrutiny and workable at scale
