John Akin

John Akin is an experienced Flight Test and Propulsion Systems & Integration Engineer, currently serving as a Senior Principal in Electric Powertrain Systems Engineering at Pratt & Whitney, where they work on the SWITCH Demonstrator program. Prior to this, Akin held various roles at Pratt & Whitney and Collins Aerospace, including project engineering on the P&W Geared Turbofan program and supporting electronic hardware for General Electric’s engine applications. Akin has also led flight test engineering efforts at Airbus, gaining extensive experience in international testing campaigns. They earned a Master’s degree in Project Management from Boston University and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
