John Shaw is currently a Staff Engineer at Pratt & Whitney, having previously served as a Senior Engineer at the same company from 2016 to 2018. Shaw completed a PhD in Materials from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where they also held a Postdoctoral Scholar position in 2015-2016. Prior to that, Shaw earned a B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering and Economics from Rutgers University in 2009. Their dissertation focused on the effects of fiber architecture on damage and failure in C/SiC composites.
