Emily Young is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in nonprofit management and program development. Currently serving as the Vice President of Programs at The Conrad Prebys Foundation since October 2023, Emily previously held the position of Executive Director of The Nonprofit Institute at the University of San Diego from September 2016 to October 2023, where leadership of an 18-member staff and a 12-member Advisory Board was crucial for strategic planning and operations. Prior experience at The San Diego Foundation spanned over 16 years, during which Emily advanced through multiple roles, including Vice President of Community Impact and Vice President of Environmental Initiatives, providing strategic insights to the executive leadership team and managing substantial budgets and programs. Earlier in Emily's career, a tenure as an Assistant Professor at The University of Arizona included research on conservation and sustainable development in Mexico, complemented by a strong academic background with a PhD in Geography from The University of Texas at Austin.
