Stefan Schlamp

Stefan Schlamp has a strong background in quantitative analytics and trading. Stefan is currently working at Deutsche Börse as the Head of Quantitative Analytics, a role they started in January 2023. Prior to this, they were the Head of Content Development & Management at Deutsche Börse from February 2022 to December 2022.

Before joining Deutsche Börse, Stefan worked at Precise.tv as the Chief Data Scientist (Advisor) starting in November 2015. Stefan also has experience as a Senior Quantitative Trader at Tensor Technologies from January 2020 to November 2021, where they developed a high-fidelity C++ simulator for various futures markets.

Stefan's previous roles include Senior Quantitative Researcher at Optiver from March 2016 to November 2019, Head Of Product Development at Elevence Digital Finance from October 2015 to March 2016, and Senior Quantitative Trader at Sun Trading LLC from January 2013 to October 2015.

Stefan also has extensive academic experience, serving as a Lecturer at Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich from May 2007 to July 2015 and as a Postdoc conducting research in compressible fluid mechanics and shock waves from September 2000 to May 2007.

Additionally, Stefan has worked as the Director of Quantitative Research at Eladian Partners from October 2011 to October 2012 and as an Executive Director in the European proprietary high-frequency trading group at Goldman Sachs from September 2009 to October 2011.

Their earlier roles include Statistical Arbitrage Trader at Susquehanna International Group from May 2007 to August 2009, where they developed low-latency trading strategies for European equities.

Stefan Schlamp obtained their initial education in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Stuttgart from 1992 to 1995, where they earned a Dipl.-Ing. degree. Afterward, they pursued further studies at Caltech from 1995 to 2000, where they achieved a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Aeronautics. Subsequently, they attended ETH Zürich, where they completed their Habilitation in Fluid Mechanics from 2000 to 2007.
