Kris Ingva has a diverse work experience. From 2014 to 2019, they were a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Pennsylvania and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Temple University. In 2019, they attended Launch School Experience, a mastery-based education program focused on software engineering fundamentals, where they developed open-source software using both the JavaScript and Ruby ecosystems. In 2022, they became a Data Engineer at PrecisionGx and a Project Co-Founder and Software Engineer at Kuri, an open-source Dead-Letter Queue-as-a-Service (DLQaaS) for small distributed applications deployed on AWS infrastructure. At Kuri, they designed, configured, and deployed AWS infrastructure, prototyped an alternative cloud architecture design using AWS CDK, and built a RESTful API for viewing, deleting, editing, and resending messages from the DLQ back to the main SQS queue.
Kris Ingva is currently enrolled at Launch School, where they are studying Computer Software Engineering. Prior to this, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania between 2002 and 2007. Additionally, they received a Bachelor of Science - BS in Biochemistry from Háskóli Íslands between 1997 and 2000.
