Dexter Horthy is the founder of HumanLayer, an SDK and API that facilitates communication between AI agents and humans for approvals and feedback, which began in August 2024. Prior to this, Dexter served as an advisor at Prefect and as CEO and co-founder of metalytics.dev, which transitioned to become HumanLayer. Dexter has extensive experience in various technical roles, including a contract position in technical marketing at Replicated, and leadership positions at Aspiration.com, where responsibilities spanned from product management to engineering. Early career highlights include software engineering at Sprout Social, technical support at the University of Chicago, and a summer internship at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Dexter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from the University of Chicago and is currently participating in the Y Combinator program.
