Steve Shivers has had a diverse range of roles and experiences in the field of scientific research. Steve started their career in 1994 as an Assistant Professor at Moffitt Cancer Center. Steve then transitioned to become the Chief Research Scientist at Lakeland Regional Cancer Center from 2002 to 2009. After that, they worked as a Research Scientist at Moffitt Cancer Center from 2009 to 2011. Steve then joined the USF Breast Health Program, Morsani College of Medicine as a Research Scientist in 2011. Steve'smost recent role is Vice President of Scientific Affairs at PreludeDx, a position they have held since 2019.

Steve Shivers completed their education as follows:

- From 1989 to 1994, they attended the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, earning a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences, with a focus on Molecular Medicine.

- From 1983 to 1988, they studied at the University of Central Florida, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences, specializing in Immunology.

- Between 1976 and 1980, they pursued their undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, where they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology.

In addition to their educational background, they hold a now inactive license from the State of Florida as a Clinical Laboratory Director (Serology/Immunology) and Supervisor (Clinical Chemistry).
