Ben Davis

Ben Davis has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and research. Ben worked as a Principal Data Scientist at Premier Inc. since January 2021 and prior to that, they were a Lead Engineer for Data Science at the same company from May 2020 to January 2021. Before Premier Inc., they were a Data Science Manager at UnitedHealth Group / Optum from September 2019 to May 2020, where they led a team in building NLP deep learning models for medical chart classification. In 2018, Ben worked as a Data Scientist at Marsh ClearSight, where they developed machine learning models to predict workers comp claims. Ben also worked as a Data Scientist at Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd from February 2018 to March 2019. Prior to that, Ben had experience as a Data Scientist at UC Irvine, where they worked on various projects involving statistical learning fMRI, eye movement data, and deep learning. Ben also served as a Research Associate at Università degli Studi di Trento from 2011 to 2017, focusing on Resting State fMRI analysis and statistical learning experiments. Ben's early work experience includes being a Research Assistant at the University of South Carolina from 2005 to 2010, where they worked on projects involving fMRI, psycholinguistics, motor rehabilitation, and cognitive decline in geriatric humans, among others.

Ben Davis completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Experimental Psychology at the University of South Carolina from 2001 to 2005. Ben then pursued a Masters Degree, Laurea Magistrale, in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Università di Trento from 2014 to 2015. Continuing their education, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cognitive Neuroscience from UC Irvine, completing their studies from 2015 to 2018. Additionally, Ben obtained several certifications in various fields, including deep learning and machine learning, through Coursera.
