Francesco Pomponi is an esteemed academic and industry leader in sustainability, currently serving as a Professor at the University of York since September 2024 and holding multiple roles at the University of Cambridge, including Senior Associate at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership since October 2015 and Research Associate at the Centre for Sustainable Development. As the co-founder and Chief Science Officer of Preoptima and a Visiting Professor at Edinburgh Napier University since February 2017, Francesco has significantly contributed to sustainable building design and led the Resource Efficient Built Environment Lab (REBEL), fostering substantial research success. Additionally, Francesco holds an Honorary Professor position at the University of Cape Town and is actively involved in various organizations such as Extantia Capital and the Whole Life Carbon Network.
