Jimmy The Exploder

Jimmy The Exploder, born in Melbourne and raised in Perth, studied at the University of Western Australia. Beginning their career as a writer and producer of internationally successful short films with director Elissa Down, they were recognized as a Young Filmmaker to Watch by Screen Australia. Jimmy's first feature, 'The Black Balloon,' won numerous awards, including the Crystal Bear at the Berlinale and six AACTA Awards. Currently, they produce and co-direct 'The Arising,' a documentary about The Smashing Pumpkins, and will produce and direct 'Stunt Man,' a documentary about Grant Page. Additionally, Jimmy has written the screenplay for their first US narrative feature, 'Luka Magic,' set to be directed in 2026.
