Derek Ransom

Derek Ransom is a seasoned financial executive with extensive experience in leading financial operations for various companies. Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer at Previ since September 2024, Derek has a proven track record of scaling startups from under $10 million to over $100 million in revenue. Previously, Derek held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Jolt from March 2022 to September 2024, and Vice President of Finance - Sales at Vivint Smart Home from January 2019 to March 2022, managing an $850 million budget and overseeing significant customer acquisition efforts. Prior to that, Derek spent nearly eight years as Chief Financial Officer at Virgin Pulse, significantly contributing to the growth of a leading global SaaS platform. Derek began a career in finance as VP Finance at Logoworks/MarketSplash, where strategic contributions aided in the company's success under HP's ownership. An alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Derek holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
