Steve Benson has a diverse work experience in the field of data centers and facility management. Steve is currently serving as the Vice President of Critical Operations at Prime Data Centers since 2022. Prior to this, Steve worked as a Site Director at QTS Data Centers from 2016 to 2022. Steve also worked at Amazon Web Services as a DCEO Area Manager and DCEO Facilities Manager from 2014 to 2016. Steve's earlier experience includes roles at CenturyLink Technology Solutions as a Critical Facilities Manager and Lead Mechanical Engineer, and at the US Navy as a Nuclear Facilities Manager and Radiological Controls Technician.
Steve Benson completed their education at various institutions and obtained additional certifications throughout their career. Steve began by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology from Excelsior University, where they attended from 2009 to 2010. Steve later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Sustainable Business at Marylhurst University from 2010 to 2012.
In addition to their formal education, Steve Benson has also obtained several certifications. In 2012, they became a Webcontrol System Installer through Automated Logic Corporation. Later, in 2014, they obtained the Certified Data Center Management Professional (CDCMP) certification from CNet Training and became a Level II Thermographer certified by the Professional Thermographers association. Their most recent certification, the Certified Data Center Energy Professional (CDCEP), was obtained in 2015 from CNet Training.
