Bill Lin is a geotechnical engineer currently conducting research in mine geotechnical engineering with a focus on developing cost-effective techniques for estimating horizontal stress magnitudes using borehole breakout data. They have held roles as Principal Geotechnical Engineer at Prime Mining and LCGeotechnics since 2025 and served in the same capacity at Whitehaven Coal for a year. Bill's previous experience includes positions at BHP, Glencore, and Stanmore Resources Limited. They obtained a PhD in Mine Geomechanics from UNSW, where they also completed a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering with First Class Honours.
