Design Engineer I at Primera Engineers

Patrick Beckemeyer, EI has a diverse range of work experience in the engineering field. Patrick started their career as a Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Engineers Camp Participant with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, ERDC in 2016. In 2019, Patrick worked as a Summer Engineering Intern at ERI - Engineering and Research International, where they conducted field and laboratory testing for transportation and infrastructure projects.

Patrick gained further experience as a Civil Engineering Intern at the Illinois Department of Transportation in both 2020 and 2021. In this role, they performed layout, inspection, and testing for bridge and roadway rehabilitation projects. Patrick worked independently and with teams and ensured compliance with specifications.

From 2021 to 2023, Patrick served as a Research Assistant at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Patrick worked collaboratively on innovative research focused on implementing recycled plastics and rubber tires in asphalt pavement. This research aimed to create greener construction technologies and more sustainable transportation infrastructure.

Most recently, Patrick joined Primera Engineers in 2023 as a Structural Engineer I.

Patrick Beckemeyer, EI has a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, which they obtained in 2021. Patrick also holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia, which they acquired between 2021 and 2022. In January 2021, they obtained the Fundamentals of Engineering certification from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).
