Mark Van Name

Mark Van Name has held several positions in the technology industry since 1981. Mark began their career as the President and Co-Founder of Blue Ridge Information Systems, Inc. In 1982, they co-founded Foundation Computer Systems, where they served as Vice President of Research and Development and was responsible for the design and implementation of the company's application development system, ALLY. In 1986, they moved to Foresight Computer Corp. as Vice President of Research and Development and Co-Founder. From 1987 to 1992, they worked as an independent consultant and free-lance writer, consulting with large companies on software product development and future computing strategies and publishing hundreds of articles in leading technical magazines. In 1992, they joined Ziff Davis as Executive Vice President of Technology and co-director of the Ziff-Davis Benchmark Operation (ZDBOp). In 2002, they became Senior Vice President of VeriTest at Lionbridge Technologies, Inc. Finally, in 2003, they co-founded and became President of Principled Technologies, a market leader in fact-based marketing.

Mark Van Name obtained a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics-Computer Science from Florida State University between 1973 and 1976. Mark then went on to earn a Master of Science in Computer Science from Penn State University in 1977.
