Chris Friend began their career in 2008 as a Human Intelligence Collector for the US Army. In 2016, they were hired as a Manufacturing Engineer at Sensocon, Inc. In 2017, they took on the role of President at Hi Tech 3D Printing. In 2019, they joined JC Machine Inc. as a Product Engineer/QA Manager, where they manufactured aerospace, aviation, firearm, and oil and gas parts to conformance with AS9100, ISO9001, and customer specifications utilizing ASME Y14. 5 and HAAS, OKUMA, and Hardinge manual and CNC machines. Chris also reverse engineered, CAD/ CAM programmed, and machined multiple products for the modernization and modification of the L-159 for Draken Intl using SolidWorks, ESPRIT CAM and HAAS CNC’s. In 2021, they became a Medical Device Additive Manufacturing Technician at PrinterPrezz, and also took on a freelance role as an Additive Manufacturing/CAD Professional. Finally, in 2022, Chris Friend began working as a Medical Manufacturing Technician/Swiss Lathe Programmer at Vertex Manufacturing.
Chris Friend obtained their High School Diploma in CAD/CADD Drafting and/or Design Technology/Technician from Crystal River High School between 2004 and 2008. In 2021, they obtained four certifications from LinkedIn, including Cert Prep: Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional, SOLIDWORKS: Design Study and Optimization, SOLIDWORKS 2020 Essential Training, and SOLIDWORKS: Designing for Consumer Electronics. Additionally, they became a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association in January 2021.
