Neel Kumar

Neel Kumar has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Neel is currently working at Zeda (Formerly PrinterPrezz / Vertex Manufacturing) where they started as a Design Engineer in April 2019. Neel then progressed to the role of Design Engineering Manager in June 2021 and is currently serving as a Product Engineering Manager since September 2022.

In 2018, Neel worked as a First Robotics Initiative Intern at Triangle Fraternity, where they were responsible for planning and executing a convention and building a master database of contacts, resources, and events. Neel was re-hired to further a new partnership with FIRST robotics.

Prior to that, Neel held multiple positions at Triangle Fraternity from January 2014 to January 2018, including the role of President. In this role, they created and led an executive and judicial board and managed a $100,000 annual budget. Neel also represented the fraternity at national events, university advisory board meetings, and conventions.

In 2017, Neel gained experience as a Product Design Intern at IIT Bombay Heritage Foundation, where they worked on designing a pediatric vein detector for hospitals around the country, incorporating purpose of form for the device.

Neel also worked as a Design Instructor at Leonardo's Basement in 2016, where they helped maintain and upkeep the maker space, taught proper usage of tools in wood and metal shops, and taught CAD modeling and construction methods for rapid prototyping.

Additionally, Neel had a laboratory internship at St. Anthony Falls Laboratory - University of Minnesota in 2015, where they worked on the Delta Imagery Team. Their responsibilities included identifying, tracking, and following individual waterways in Minnesota using MATLAB to highlight each tributary and plot the future path of the waterway.

Overall, Neel Kumar has demonstrated a wide range of skills and experiences in product and design engineering management, project planning and execution, database management, leadership, and research.

Neel Kumar completed their Bachelor of Science in ICP with a specialization in Product Design and Applied Business at the University of Minnesota. Neel attended the university from 2014 to 2018.
