Ed Smith

Ed Smith is a seasoned clinical psychologist with extensive experience in forensic and rehabilitation mental health settings. Currently serving as Principal Clinical Psychologist at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust since November 2017, Ed manages complex cases at The Tamarind Centre, a medium secure forensic unit. In addition, Ed has held the role of Regional Psychology Lead at Priory Group since September 2015, overseeing psychology services across multiple rehabilitation units for women with diverse and challenging mental health needs. Prior clinical experience includes positions at Partnerships in Care, Barnet Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust, and several other NHS trusts, where Ed developed expertise in working with various populations, including adolescents and individuals with forensic concerns. Ed holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of East London and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Leeds.
