Chief Methodologist at Privacy Analytics

Luk Arbuckle is the Chief Methodologist at Privacy Analytics. Luk has over 10 years of experience in the field of privacy and data security. Luk has a deep understanding of anonymization and de-identification techniques, as well as other privacy-enhancing technologies. Luk has also conducted extensive research in the area of re-identification risk measurement.

Before joining Privacy Analytics, Luk was the Director of Technology Analysis at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada/Commissariat à la protection de la vie privée du Canada. In this role, they led a team of highly skilled researchers who conducted tech-related privacy research, IT audits, and assisted in investigations and reviews of privacy impact assessments. Luk also continued to be involved in the field of anonymization and de-identification during their time at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Prior to their work at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, Luk was the Director of Analytics at Privacy Analytics. In this role, they led a team of data scientists who assessed re-identification risk in datasets with personal information and conducted research in the area of re-identification risk measurement and de-identification and anonymization methods. Luk also represented the company at conferences and events to describe our risk management techniques and case studies.

Luk has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa and a Master's degree in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London.

They work with Jordan Collins - Data Privacy Solutions Business Leader, Muqun Li - Senior Machine Learning Engineer, and Andrew Baker - Senior Research Engineer. Their manager is Sarah Lyons, Head of Privacy Analytics.
