Barbara Chamberlain

Barbara Chamberlain is a highly experienced professional in art collection management, currently serving as the Director of Art Collection Management at Private Client Select since July 2023. With 25 years in the field, Barbara specializes in comprehensive collections management, risk management, and loss prevention for private collections and museums across the Southeastern, Mid-Atlantic, Central, and Midwestern United States. Previously, Barbara held a similar role at AIG from February 2008 and has also contributed to academia as an Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins University since January 2017. Earlier experience includes serving as Museum Registrar at the Appleton Museum of Art, managing a vast collection of over 19,000 objects. Educational credentials include a Master’s Degree in Museology/Museum Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History and Psychology from Smith College, along with ongoing studies for a certificate in Designing High-Impact Learning Experiences from Johns Hopkins University.
