Don Higgins has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Starting in 2002, they worked as a Corporate Counsel at Bell Aliant until 2005. From 2005 to 2011, they served as a General Counsel at OSCO Construction Group, where they were responsible for legal matters across multiple companies and industries. Don then joined Salesforce.com as a Senior Corporate Counsel from 2011 to 2013, where they played a key role in implementing corporate objectives and supporting product development.

Don transitioned to a private practice as a Counsel at Donald J Higgins Law Office from 2013 to 2015. During this time, they also served as a Visual Artist at Mazzhyk Design Bureau from 2013 onwards. Moving back to the public sector, they joined the Department of Justice & Public Safety in 2015 as a Regional Director - Court Services Division until 2017. Don then progressed to become the Director - Court Services at the Government of New Brunswick's Department of Justice & Public Safety from 2017 to 2019.

In 2019, Don took on the role of Director of Innovation and Support Services at the Department of Justice & the Office of the AG. In this position, they were responsible for introducing and managing innovative solutions and services. Don then transitioned to the role of Senior Strategist and Digital Engagement at the Government of New Brunswick's Department of Justice in 2021. Here, Don spearheaded efforts to modernize the delivery of justice services in response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Don's most recent work experience is as a Senior Corporate Counsel at ProcedureFlow, starting in 2023.

Don Higgins started their education in 1979 at the University of New Brunswick, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biology. Don attended this institution until 1983. In the following academic year, from 1983 to 1984, they attended Dalhousie University, focusing on Political Science with a field of study in Conflict Studies. Subsequently, starting from 1984 to 1987, Don Higgins returned to the University of New Brunswick to obtain a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree, specializing in Conflict and Resolution.
