Derek McCallum's work experience begins in 2012 at Boogies Watersports, where they worked as a Waverunner Rentals employee from April 2012 to August 2014. In 2016, they joined the Civil Engineering GIS Research Group, focusing on Puerto Rico Crash Mapping from July 2016 to December 2017. Since 2018, Derek has been with ProcessBarron, starting as a Field Service Estimator from January 2018 to October 2020. Derek then moved up to an Associate Regional Manager role from October 2020 to December 2021. Currently, Derek serves as a Regional Sales Manager at ProcessBarron, starting in December 2021.

Derek McCallum completed their high school education at Crestview High School from 2008 to 2012, obtaining a High School Diploma. Derek then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering from the University of Alabama from 2012 to 2017. In addition to their formal education, Derek obtained several certifications. In 2009, they completed Core Curricula training at NCCER, followed by Carpentry Level One training in 2010, also at NCCER. In 2017, they obtained the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety & Health certification from the University of Alabama. Lastly, in 2018, Derek completed Part 48 New Miner Training at ProcessBarron.
