Dr. Xiaofan Yang is a partner in the San Diego office of Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP, providing strategic intellectual property counseling to growth enterprises in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries. Currently, they specialize in patent strategic counseling and prosecution, supporting life science companies throughout various stages of development. Prior to their legal career, Dr. Yang worked as a medicinal chemist for Solvay Organics GmbH and Bayer Pharmaceuticals for over four years. They were also a co-awardee of the "Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award" for research in organic synthesis. Dr. Yang holds a degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where they studied from 2007 to 2011.
