From October 1983 to May 1988, Berg worked at Ralston Purina as a Key Account Manager, focusing on presenting new items and enhancing merchandising at the warehouse level. Following this, Berg co-owned Cimino's Coffee & Cream from February 1992 to 2002, where the establishment specialized in homemade foods. Since March 1988, Berg has been serving as an Account Manager at Procter & Gamble. Additionally, in May 2016, Berg volunteered with Pawsitive Perspectives Assistance Dogs (PawPADs) to exercise service dogs. Educationally, Berg attended Sioux City North High School from 1972 to 1975, earning a background in mechanical and architectural drawing as well as mathematics.
