Dave Martin

Dave Martin has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Dave is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Procurated since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Code Reviewer at PullRequest from April 2021 to July 2022.

Dave's longest tenure was at Amazon Web Services, where they worked as an SDE from June 2016 to March 2021. During their time at AWS, they were responsible for extracting and publishing EC2 health metrics for internal monitoring. Dave successfully migrated the EC2 monitoring service from RDS MySQL to RDA Aurora without any downtime or impact to downstream users. Additionally, they designed, developed, and maintained Front End and Back End systems for assessing and visualizing the health of CI/CD pipelines.

Before joining AWS, Dave worked at Radius Networks as a Firmware/Software/Backend Developer from April 2014 to June 2016. In this role, they developed firmware for Bluetooth Low Energy beacons and implemented features such as concurrent transmission of multiple beacon technologies and cryptographic privacy features. Dave also conducted firmware testing and developed support tools.

Prior to their industry experience, Dave founded their own company called Dave's Project Incubator, where they worked as the Chief of Creative Dabbling and Prototyping from an undisclosed start date to 2016. Their projects included building a graphing site, analyzing machine learning models, and creating a dashboard for Github repository overview.

Dave also served as a Sr. Director - Architecture at 4DK Technologies from February 2006 to April 2014, where they worked on patents, prototypes, analytics, system architecture, and more. Dave was responsible for ensuring standards compliance and implementing next-generation wireless technologies.

Earlier in their career, Dave held various positions at Sprint Nextel from 1996 to 2006. Dave worked as a Sr. Director of Technology Development, where they developed technology transition plans for Push-to-Talk services and managed the upgrade of the network from isolated networks to a unified VoIP network.

Dave began their career as a Signal Officer in the US Army from 1990 to 1994. Dave also worked as a RF Design Engineer Consultant at LCC International, Inc., where they designed and engineered wireless communication networks.

Dave Martin has a strong educational background in the fields of machine learning and electrical engineering. In 2018, they attended the Amazon Machine Learning University and earned an Advanced ML Certificate. Prior to this, from 1985 to 1989, Dave studied at the University of Colorado Boulder, achieving a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) degree. Furthermore, in 2016, they obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates.
