Murray Sorbie has a range of work experience in different companies. Murray'smost recent position was as a SIEM Engineer at Proficio, starting in November 2018. Prior to that, they worked at IBM as a SOC SIEM Threat Monitoring Analyst from September 2016 to October 2018. Before that, they were employed at Schlumberger, where they served as a Global Real Time Application Support, providing incident response and management to internal and external users in the oil and gas industry. Murray'srole included creating new user accounts and ensuring authorized access. Murray also has experience as an Investment Administrator at Hymans Robertson, where they compiled Investment Monitoring Reports for different clients and frequently liaised with fund managers to collect valuation and performance figures.

Murray Sorbie pursued their education in computer networking and systems support. From 2009 to 2011, they attended Glasgow Caledonian University, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Networking and Systems Support. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2009, Murray attended Langside College and earned a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing with a focus on Technical Support.

In addition to their formal education, Murray Sorbie holds various certifications in the field of information technology and cybersecurity. Murray obtained the eLearnSecurity Certified Professional Penetration Tester certification from eLearnSecurity in February 2022. In August 2021, they achieved the eLearnSecurity Junior Penetration Tester certification. Murray also holds the Splunk Core Certified Power User certification from Splunk, obtained in July 2021. Furthermore, they received the MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician on Windows 7 and MCSA: Windows 7 certifications from Microsoft in June 2016. In August 2013, they earned the ITIL v3 Foundation certification from EXIN. In terms of cybersecurity, Murray Sorbie holds the Certified Ethical Hacker certification from EC-Council, obtained in September 2018. Murray also obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certifications from (ISC)² in August 2018 and June 2018, respectively. Additionally, they hold the Comptia Security+ certification from CompTIA, achieved in October 2017, and the Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching) certification from Cisco, obtained in June 2017.
