Heather Beaton

Heather Beaton has a diverse work experience spanning from 2004 to present. Heather started their career as a Mathematics Teacher at Truman High School in Taylor School District from 2004 to 2013. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as a Mathematics and Chemistry Teacher at Lincoln High School in Van Dyke Public Schools. In 2016, they transitioned into the field of software development and worked as a Java Developer at Grand Circus where they built and deployed a scalable web app using Java, Spring MVC, and Hibernate. Heather then worked as a C# Developer I and Junior Developer at United Shore from 2017 to 2017, where they gained experience in C# development and learned various development processes and technologies. Heather joined United Shore again in 2019 as a Developer 2, focusing on web application development using languages such as Scheme, JavaScript, and C#. Heather also contributed to code reviews and followed United Shore's SDLC procedures. In 2019, Heather joined Hollis Cobb Associates as a Web Developer, where they single-handedly designed, developed, and deployed web applications, and collaborated with external clients and internal stakeholders on project scope and scale. Most recently, they began working as an Associate Software Engineer at Profisee in 2020.

Heather Beaton's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Mathematics from Oakland University. Heather then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Mathematics from Eastern Michigan University, which they completed between 2007 and 2009.
