David Markert

David Markert has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. From 2021 to present, they serve as the Business Area Manager (Vice President) at Progeny Systems Corporation, where they are responsible for overseeing business operations. Prior to this role, they held the position of Chief Engineer at the same company from 2018 to 2021. Simultaneously, from 2013 to present, they also worked as the Director of Business Development at Progeny Systems Corporation.

In 2018, David worked as a Defense Consultant for the Department of Defense (DOD). Before that, in 2017, they co-founded Abaka Health and served as the Chief Operating Officer. Abaka Health aims to revolutionize healthcare by improving the patient experience and optimizing provider operations. Additionally, in 2015, David worked as an Aviation Advisor for BetterView, a drone start-up focused on capturing building imagery and data.

Earlier in their career, David served as the CEO of Tactical Systems Engineering (TSE) LLP from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Engineer at MITRE from 2007 to 2009. David also held the position of Commander/Officer in Charge - London at the Office of Naval Research from 2005 to 2007. David’s career began in the United States Navy, where they served as a Naval Officer from 1984 to 2007.

David Markert attended the University of Notre Dame from 1980 to 1984, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. In 1994 to 1995, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Foreign Affairs from the U.S. Naval War College. David later completed their education at the MIT Sloan School of Management from 2011 to 2013, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Business Administration and Management.
